The Huni Kuin, also known as the Kaxinawá, are an ethnic group of indigenous tribal natives who are settled on the Brazilian/Peruvian border in the state of Acre, in the north-western part of Brazil.
Through their cosmology, customs, traditional rituals and language the Huni Kuin are maintaining the inseparable link between the forest as a whole.
This album presents traditional and modern songs of the Huni Kuin peoples, sung by Txana Inkakuru Huni Kuin. Recorded live in traditional ceremonies, deep in the Amazon rainforest.
These hypnotic invocations call upon the spirits of our ancestors, and the spirits of plants and animals in the forest. To help us connect with them, to help us connect with our minds, with our bodies, and with our spirit.
50% of profits from this album to Txana Inkakuru Huni Kuin directly.
